Beauty- Citrus for Your Scaly Elbows?

Have you ever heard of this cure for scaly elbows? Yes? No? Well, if not you might want to keep on reading..

The science behind it is that supposedly by applying the citrus fruit to your elbows, the citric acid contained within the fruit will break down the dead skin (like one of those expensive facial peels) on your elbows leaving them soft and very unfish-like. Seriously?

Yes! It works! What I do for extra exfoliation power and efficiency is take a half of lemon with most of the juice squeezed out of it (you may use the juice in cooking later!), and I put about a tablespoon of coarse salt into the pre-squeezed half. Then I press my elbow into the salty lemon half and grind the lemon onto my elbow for a few minutes. When i feel that i am done i wipe the lemon gush off of my appendage and apply a rich moisturizer. A la sexy elbows! Try this on your own and leave a comment with your experience or variations of this wonderfully economic method of de-scaling your elbows and other scaly places such as knees and heels. Good luck!

Diet- Apple Cider Vinigar Diet?

This diet claims to help you lose weight, detoxify and prevent ageing by simply  taking a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar mixed in a glass of water after ever meal (no change in diet or exercise needed!). Seriously?

To test this seemingly miracle cure-all I, age 18, and my mother, age 53, will both be testing this product (I enlisted my mothers help in this experiment in order to be able to test effectiveness of the vinegar on both younger and more middle age body types). We will be using Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar, priced at around $5 for a 16oz bottle. Note: neither my mom nor I need to lose a significant amount of weight, if any, but we are but interested in slimming down a tad in the abdominal area. Wish us luck! I will be posting the effects of the vinegar weekly along with other beauty tricks that either do or DON'T work.
